All of our joinery is made to the highest standards and fully checked prior to leaving the workshop. Every care is taken to ensure a long life and top quality performance. In the very unlikely event of a problem occurring due to faulty manufacture/poor workmanship we will repair or replace the item free of charge. Please read through the below and ask us if you have any questions.

• 10 Year Guarantee against manufacturing defects of joinery.

• 10 Year Guarantee against manufacturing defects of weather seals.

• 5 Year Guarantee against manufacturing defects of glazed units.

• 5 year Guarantee against coating failure on fully factory finished applied paint.

   

 

However the long term performance of any item is subject to matters outside of our control therefore these guarantees are subject to the following conditions.

 

10 year guarantee against manufacturing defects of Joinery

Products must have been manufactured to our specifications. This guarantee excludes factors that are out of our control such as excessive natural movement of timber, resin exudation, extractive staining, pin hole borer.

Any item not installed by ourselves must be fitted by a certified professional. Proof may be required. All holes and cuts must be treated, sealed, primed and top coated with two coats of microporous paint. Appropriate fixings must be used.

 

10 Year Guarantee against manufacturing defects of weatherseals

Weatherseals must not be painted over. Guarantee covers supply only.

 

5 Year Guarantee against manufacturing defects of glazed units.

As we do not manufacture our own glazed units this guarantee cascades from the glazing manufacturer. Glazing units must be cared for with no visible signs of neglect or use of strong solvents/care products. We can only cover units that have been supplied and fitted by ourselves.

Speciality glazed units such as heritage slim line or units featuring advanced glass technologies may require additional care in line with manufacturers instructions.

 

5 Year Guarantee against coating failure on factory applied coatings.

This guarantee covers the coating against; peeling, cracking, fungal growth within the coating.

It does not cover exudation of resin or staining. Failure of coatings on cills or drips.

All paint must be cared for and gently cleaned regularly with mid soapy water. No abrasive cleaning or jet washing/pole cleaning. No strong chemical cleaning products.

Most stains will require regular re-coating as advised in product specifications. If in doubt please ask about maintenance intervals.

Overall Guarantee Conditions

The following conditions must be met.

Items must have been paid for in full.

Oakes Carpentry and Joinery agrees that defects are a result of faulty materials/workmanship by the company.

Liability is limited to replacing products provided by ourselves. It excludes repairs to other parts of the building damaged as a result of a product supplied by ourselves.

Joinery supplied unfinished is excluded from these guarantees.

Repairs carried out by others not employed or contracted by ourselves.

Items swollen from excessive absorption of moisture.

Problems resulting from neglect, misuse, damage, modification.

Items not made to our design

 

This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.
